Windows Essentials 2012 contains the followings programs :

- Windows Live Writer - A blog editor(My Favorite!). Supports all major blog platforms like Wordpress, Blogger etc.

- Mail - To send and receive e-mail messages and contacts (Well this was unexpected!)
- Family safety - Parental Controls to help parents keep children safe online (Do we really needed this? )
- Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Movie Maker - One thing I surely missed in my Windows & was this lovely Movie maker.
Now a quick look at System requirements :
- Operating system: 32- or 64-bit version of Windows 7, or 32- or 64-bit version of Windows 8 Release Preview, or Windows Server 2008 R2.

You missed out again Bro :D
ReplyDeletethis link is already in the post, you should start reading posts more carefully now ;)
the web installer link is given there... u have to download the whole file while installing.. but ths iz the full 12x.mb installer whick u can download via ur download manager in a greater speed with resume capability :P
DeleteWeb installer link is better since U can choose what programs to install rather than downloading the whole package. And I guess if U download this through the download manager, U have to install all programs manually?
DeleteThe web installer automatically installs the selected programs, you don't have to install them one by one.
yp u r ri8... but actually it depends on personal preferences... i generally prefer offline redistributable installers... bcoz i can share them with my friends or to make a large collection of softwares... but if i am sitting before a phone internet connection and want to install only the "Writer" then the web installer is preferable... anyways they are great tools and i think they sud be integrated with windows from the beginning itself whtsay... :D
ReplyDeleteI know you have a fast internet connection, but it's not about the phone internet connection, it's about personal preferences as you said. If you download the whole program as you desire, then you will end up having the installer for Windows Family safety and Mail service. I hope you don't need a parenting software now , do you bro? ;)
DeleteTherefore I would advise my readers to choose only the desired softwares by using web installer. And with a fast internet connection the web installer would work hassle-free.
And yep you are right these programs should be integrated with windows. then we wont be commenting here :D
DeleteBut atleast we get them free, not like Mac where you have to pay for almost every update.
lol..the family filter one was good :D
