This is certainly the most exciting gadget release for Bloggers. Finally we've the official Google+ Followers gadget for our Blog.
As stated by Blogger Buzz - "The Google+ followers gadget highlights your total Google+ audience (both its size and some friendly faces), and offers visitors the chance to follow you on Google+. As a result, you can grow your readership across the web, and reach them either in the Google+ stream, or through your blog."

                       

To add the Google+ Followers gadget Go to your Blog ->Layout -> Add a Gadget and choose the Google+ Followers gadget :

                       

You need not configure this gadget, Once you add this gadget it will automatically show -

1. The people in your Google+ Circles - if your Blog is linked to your personal Google+ Profile.                                            
                                                           Or2. The people who follow your Google+ Page - if your Blog is linked to a Google+ Brand Page.
Google might say that this gadget will help us to grow our audience but we can clearly see this as an effort by Google+ to counter the Facebook Like Box. But as always we stand to gain from this rivalry as the new gadget will surely provide an easier way to let audience follow our Blogs with the simple one click Add to circles/Follow Button.

Sources at Blogger Buzz suggest that this might be the 
end of the road for the Google Friend Connect/Followers
gadget though the support for the gadget will continue
till the foreseeable future.


So if you really never liked the Google Friend Connect gadget, you can dump it right away for this new Google+ gadget or you can keep both if you prefer that way.

  It was that momentous day and I was ready for it. I found myself in front of the mirror, keenly analysing my own reflection. No I was not a narcissist.
