But what ails some download freaks is the unavailability of the desired files on the download sites, even the popular download sites fail to satisfy their quest of their beloved games or movies or softwares.
So where to download them?
Torrents come to the rescue in such a scenario.
A Torrent is like a stream of data or files used for file transfer through a protocol called BitTorrent.
BitTorrent (often abbreviated to ‘BT’) is a protocol allowing you to download files quickly by allowing people downloading the file to upload (distribute) parts of it at the same time. BitTorrent is often used for distribution of very large files, very popular files and files available for free, as it is a lot cheaper, faster and more efficient to distribute files using BitTorrent than a regular download.
Yeah! that's the definition. But who the hell cares about the definition! All we care about is our downloads.
So let's get started. The following steps will guide you in installing and using Torrents :
Step 1 - Installing a BitTorrent client
A ‘client’ in this case is a computer program that follows the rules of a protocol. In simple words you need to install this client on your computer to be able to download from torrents.
The most popular BitTorrent client is utorrent.
Download utorrent here : DOWNLOAD
Now install the downloaded utorrent.exe on your computer.
Once installed, Open the utorrent shortcut on your desktop and you will see the following interface :
Step 2 - Searching and Downloading Torrent Files
It's time to search torrent files.
Go to Google (or any other search engine) and search for "torrent sites". You will get a large number of torrent sites in the search results. Some of the popular Torrent sites are :
1. Torrentz
2. Mininova
3. ThePirateBay
4. Torrentspy
5. Isohunt
-> Search for your desired file on the torrent site as shown below
-> Click on a link from search results :
-> You will be shown a list of torrent hosts. Choose n Click on a host from the results :
On clicking you will be directed to the selected host site where you have to download( Click "GET THIS TORRENT") the torrent file(.torrent)
Your browser will automatically download the .torrent file. Once downloaded open the torrent file and it will open in the utorrent interface :

The file will start downloading and you can check the interface for the download status (highlighted by yellow). The torrent download is a background process, so you need not keep a watch on the download, once the file download is complete you will be notified with a pop-up window.
